Bumpy Out For Blood

It’s been a long summer for the runner up, Bumpy’s Berries. After crushing teams all season long, they entered the playoffs with a 10-3 record… along with all three of the teams that had beaten them in the regular season. They were shattered. The emotional beating dispensed by the Electric Horsemen was humiliating and the Berries suffered the worst loss in a championship game since the formation of the league.

In week 1 of 2016 comes their long awaited rematch.

The Horsemen start the season rolling with a 3 game win streak that started back in their week 13 win to clinch a playoff berth over their rival, Nosebleeds. The Berries are on a streak of their own – they have lost 6 straight games to the Electric Horsemen. For those doing math at home, yes, that’s a 6-0 record for the champions.

The matchup returns to opening weekend for the first time since 2014. The last time the Horsemen lost an opening weekend matchup was… never.

After the Berries trading a 2017 2nd round pick to Legs With Holes for Delanie Walker, the Horsemen were given a 94.3% probability of victory against their optimal lineup from ESPN Insider.

In an attempt to hurt week 1 preparation and out of complete fear, the Berries have not made their final roster public as of Wednesday.

 

Other week 1 highlights include the rematch of the Asshammer Bowl between Legs With Holes and Extreme Baby Throwers.

Logan still doesn’t know when waivers are and just figured out how to use IR this week. Ted doesn’t know how to use IR yet and probably has no idea when waivers are either. This seems to give the Extreme Baby Throwers a slight edge… but man, it’s hard to count on them to win an opener.

Drunken Aces are about to get destroyed for the first time this season, and this trend is likely going to continue for the majority of the season as they look unlikely to make the playoffs.

Straight Laced comes in a huge favorite over the Nosebleeds but he’s always been a disappointment… maybe this year will be different…. maybe?
